I asked my mother.. Would she kindly go and buy me some coloured paper and a glue stick. She did and I made some cute fishy postcards. These are well over twenty years old and were found at the bottom of an old box in my mother's house, hence the grainy appearance! Thankfully she didn't throw them out because I actually rather like them. Plus, it was a reminder of the fact that there's something wonderful about how free we all are as children when it comes to being creative. The tricky part is keeping the little flame alive into adulthood.
At the end of the summer I decided I'd give my living room a little lift and cover it in The Perched Parakeets. I always thought that hanging a complicated patterned paper would be really hard, but actually it was ok! If I can do it anyone can. Granted, there were a few cuppas made along the way. But I was pleased with the results!
